Preventative Maintenance

Keeping machine vision systems up and running is just as important as getting them installed and calibrated. A crucial part of a reliable and consistent machine vision system is ensuring all devices, equipment, and software that comprise a vision system are running effectively. That requires, at minimum, regular quarterly preventative maintenance.

Is your Vision System five-by-five?

Is your vision system reliable? Does it ever pass a non-conforming (bad) product?

  2. Too often
  3. Occasionally
  4. Rarely
  5. Never


Is your vision system consistent? How often does it reject conforming (good) products?
  1. We leave the system powered off
  2. The system is in by-pass most of the time
  3. 1 in 100
  4. 1 in 1,000
  5. less than 1 in 10,000

  • Product and its inspection features are always in the field of view
  • Inspection results always returns within a dedicated inspection time window
  • Very little intensity or contrast change from image to image and from product to product
  • Does not drop camera frames
  • Can recover from a communication loss
  • Can recover from short term power loss
  • Error log containing detailed information of critical faults
